The Ferris Mountain Fire is being held at 1400 acres, although fire personnel will continue to monitor it. Hunters with tags with the following units: Elk Unit – 22, Deer Unit – 87 and Antelope Units 62 and 63 need to be award that the fire has burned only a small portion of these units and that there are many good hunting opportunities remaining within them. All access points to the Ferris Wilderness Study Area are open. While there are no closures, fire managers are asking that hunters and the public keep out of the area inside the fire perimeter due to the risk of falling trees, loose rocks and continued active fire behavior. The fire will continue to burn over the next several weeks.
