BLM Public Input Session

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) High Desert District (HDD) is seeking public input on the draft environmental assessment (EA) for the May 2012 competitive oil and gas lease sale parcel offering.
The 252 parcels located within the HDD include 45 parcels in the Kemmerer Field Office (KFO); 67 in the Rawlins Field Office; and 140 in the Rock Springs Field Office (RSFO). One parcel crosses the KFO and RSFO field office boundaries.
Three parcels in the RFO and six parcels in the RSFO are located in areas designated as unavailable for oil and gas leasing through the Rawlins and Rock Springs Resource Management Plans. Portions of 13 other parcels are also located in areas designated as unavailable. The nine complete parcels, as well as portions of the other 13, have been removed from the offering.
The EA addresses the impacts of offering the remaining 243 parcels and partial parcels that have been determined to be available for oil and gas leasing.
The complete draft EA is available online at http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/documents/og-ea/2012/may.html
