Rawlins Man Convicted In Bar Fight

A Rawlins man faces up to 10 years in prison after being convicted of aggravated assault following a fight with a bar owner. Jurors reached the verdict against 27-year-old Jorge Mendoza yesterday after deliberating for less than an hour. Witnesses said Mendoza threw his girlfriend to the ground in the parking lot and was hitting her when bar owner Mike Lujan pulled her away from him. Mendoza was accused of swiping a knife at Lujan.

  1. What a reckless and wasteful event. Still, it's good that the bar owner was not seriously hurt. Here's to hoping that the assaulted woman was not too shaken up by the event.
