Workplace Citations For Blast Could Reach $34,000 In Fines

Workplace safety citations that Wyoming has issued for an oil facility explosion that killed three workers last summer carry more than $34,000 in fines. Citations for four alleged violations went to Tulsa, Okla.-based Samson Resources. Double D Welding and Fabrication in Mills has been cited for eight alleged infractions. A third, unidentified company also has been cited. Samson operated the remote Converse County oil well and storage tanks where the Aug. 29 explosion and fire killed James Turner, Llewellyn Dort and Gerardo Alatorre.
