Marathon Oil Corp. has announced a $1 million donation to the University of Wyoming for energy related academic and research programs. The state will match the gift with $1 million of its own to bring the total contribution to $2 million. The money will support research into the extraction of energy resources from unconventional energy reservoirs. Marathon is based in Houston and has been operating in Wyoming for 100 years. In a ceremony Tuesday on the UW campus in Laramie, Gov. Matt Mead thanked the company for its investment in the state. UW President Tom Buchanan says Marathon's gift continues a tradition of collaboration between industry and university research to equip UW students with the state-of-the-art know-how required to solve the energy challenges facing Wyoming and the world.
Thanks for the information! Marathon Oil has made an absolutely right decision when they decided to make this donation. Today technologies are developing but it’s still important to make a research in all the areas. I think that $2 millions should be enough to make new researches and find out more about the extraction of energy resources from unconventional energy reservoirs. It’s great that the University of Wyoming also had a chance to contribute and there was no need to turn to loan lenders online.
