Ferris Mountain Fire at just under 50 percent containment

The Ferris Mountain fire northeast of Rawlins is just under 50 percent contained. The fire has since been referred to as the Bear Mountain Complex fire when it was combined with the Seminoe fire. Together, they have burned approximately 6500 acres. While the Seminoe fire is believed to have been started by lightning, the Ferris fire remains under investigation. No communities or structures are threatened at this time and the closure on Carbon County Road 351 has been lifted.
