A Green River woman was arrested after driving her vehicle into a gas meter outside of Smith’s Food and Drug Wdednesday night, which caused an explosion. Fred Moczulski, a detective with the Green River Police Department, said Barbara Loucks, 58, was driving near the supermarket at 9:20 p.m. when witnesses say she drove over the sidewalk, through a bench and crashed into the gas meter and building. Upon impact, gas from the line ignited. The gas pipe will not be fixed until Monday, but they installed a 100-gallon water heater to keep the store going until then.
