A co-defendant charged in the slayings and robbery of a Hudson couple has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental illness or deficiency. Public defender Tina N. Olson entered not guilty pleas Tuesday on behalf of her client, 20-year-old Joseph Jude Jenkins of Arapahoe. Jenkins faces 11 charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, stemming from the November stabbing deaths of 42-year-old Eric Clinton Likes and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Elva Charlotte Quiver. Jenkins is 1 of 5 co-defendants charged in the slayings, as well as the subsequent robbery and arson at the couple's trailer home in Hudson. Ninth District Court Judge Norman E. Young ordered Jenkins to undergo an examination at the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston.
