Lander man to be tried for 2nd-degree murder

A Lander man accused of killing one person and sexually assaulting another in September will be tried in district court. A Lander Circuit judge on Wednesday ruled that the case against 23-year-old Thomas Hereford should proceed. He faces one count of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Travis Armajo, one count of kidnapping and confinement and two counts of first degree sexual assault. Authorities aren't naming the kidnapping and sexual assault victim. The judge dropped one count of first-degree murder because he didn't find think there was probable cause of premeditation.
