Fourth Graders Invited to Rock Springs Wild Horse Holding Facility Field Trip

The Bureau of Land Management High Desert District has invited Sweetwater County School District Number One and Number Two fourth graders to the Rock Springs Wild Horse Holding Facility for a field trip on January 23rd and 24th during the reopening of the facility and expanded adoption event. Serena Baker says the tours have become so popular, they have expanded it to two days.

Tours will be scheduled from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. both days. Outdoor clothing and sturdy walking shoes are recommended. Fourth graders are also invited to submit original drawings of a wild horse to the BLM Office located at 280 Hwy 191 N. in Rock Springs by Friday, Jan. 11th.

The holding facility has been temporarily closed since October so all animals received from the range could be evaluated by a veterinarian, given tests and shots.
