The first Bureau of Land Management Wyoming wild horse adoption of the year will be held at the Rock Springs Wild Horse Holding Facility on March 8-9. Shelley Gregory says that the adoption will feature horses gathered from the North Lander Wild Horse Herd Management Area Complex east of Riverton in November 2012.
On Friday, March 8, from 12-3 p.m., potential adopters will be able to preview the wild horses available at the Facility, ask questions of BLM specialists and fill out an adoption application. On Saturday, March 9, the adoption will begin at 8 a.m.
The Facility has been temporarily closed since October 2012 so that all North Lander Complex horses could be evaluated by a veterinarian, dewormed, Coggins tested and given booster shots. For more information about the facility, please call 307-352-0292. To learn more about BLM Wyoming’s wild horse program, go blm.gov.
