The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rock Springs Field Office (RSFO) requests public comment prior to preparing an environmental analysis as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) on the proposed Sweeney Ranch Wind Park southeast of Rock Springs, Wyo.
Sweeney Ranch Wind Park, LLC proposes building up to 119 wind turbines capable of generating 250 megawatts of electricity, associated support facilities, transmission lines, and access roads on 9,700 acres of public and private lands approximately 15 miles southeast of Rock Springs, Wyo. in Sweetwater County. BLM is launching a 45-day comment period on Sweeney Ranch Wind Park by requesting the public’s help in identifying the level of analysis needed, alternatives, mitigation opportunities, and any other comments or ideas.
