A Jackson man has been rescued by helicopter after he crashed into rocks while sliding down an icy snowfield in Grand Teton National Park. 30 year old Mark Wilcox had serious but not life-threatening injuries from the incident on Friday. Wilcox called family members who, in turn, called emergency dispatchers. Park rangers reached him Friday night, but darkness prevented an immediate rescue so he was flown out Saturday morning. Rangers say Wilcox was hiking alone and didn't have a helmet or an ice ax. He slid about 75 feet before hitting rocks.
