The Rock Springs City Council has approved a $1 per month garbage collection fee increase for 2012. The monthly fee will now rise from $14 to $15 per month. Senior citizens will see a 50-cent per month increase. Garbage fees will rise by $1 per month per year for the next five years, with the fee reaching $19 per month after five years. City staff said the increase was made necessary by rising fuel and labor costs.
