County Assessor Position

Interested Sweetwater County Democrats are invited to submit a letter of intent to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of County Assessor David Rauzi effective Feb. 1. JoAnn Dayton, Chair of the Sweetwater County Democratic party, said any registered qualified Democrat residing in Sweetwater County should submit a letter by February 7 at mdayto@msn.com or mail to 738 D Street, Rock Springs. The Sweetwater County Democratic Central Committee will meet Thursday, February 9 to select three nominees to submit to the County Commissioners. The meeting will take place in Green River at the John Wesley Powell Room of Western Wyoming Community College beginning at 7:00. Nominations may be made from the floor. Each person will have three minutes to address members of the Central Committee on their qualifications to serve as Sweetwater County Assessor. All Democrats and even non-member Democrats may participate in the meeting but only members of the Central Committee may vote by signed ballot. The names of three nominees will be submitted to the County Commissioners by February 15, 2012. The Commissioners will select one to serve as Sweetwater County Assessor until the next General Election in November, 2012.
