A jury in Lander has acquitted a Riverton police officer who was accused of being intoxicated and urinating in front of a 10-year-old boy at Boysen State Park last summer. Jurors found Ron Cunningham not guilty Thursday of being intoxicated and becoming a hazard. Cunningham, who was off duty at the time of the incident, enraged the boy's family and others when he used a urinal next to the toilet the boy was using. The restroom had a single toilet next to a sole urinal with no dividing wall. The defense raised doubts about Cunningham's level of intoxication and said the hazard was created by the angry group. Defense attorneys also noted it is common for people to relieve themselves next to each other in such restrooms.
