7 from Wind River getting summer UW scholarships

Seven students from the Wind River Reservation are getting scholarships to attend the summer session at the University of Wyoming. They'll be recognized Friday night at the American Indian Studies Honoring of Graduates ceremony. The students are from Lander and Riverton. The Northern Arapaho scholarship program was created in 1987 when the tribe donated half a million dollars to the university. The state matched the gift, creating a $1 million endowment. The income from that endowment provides the money for the scholarships.
