The Arapaho Fire west of Wheatland continues to grow. As of Sunday, the wildfire has burned 75,000 plus acres. Officials say 400-500 homes are threatened throughout Albany and Platte Counties, but with this being an active fire, getting in to assess homes is not feasible at this time. Sheriff Keigley of Platte County says his department has received dozens of phone calls from evacuees hoping to know the fate of their homes. If you or someone you know has been displaced by this fire and are in need of resources, call Jane Carlson at the Platte County Emergency Management Office, 307-322-2140. Fire officials are really stressing patience with this fire and say it could be days before they are able to notify people whether their homes and structures still stand.
