Legendary steam locomotive No. 844 is headed back to Cheyenne to wrap-up the sixth leg of the UP 150 Express tour. Though the next day, the steam locomotive will begin the seventh and final leg of the UP 150 Express, a multi-segment tour celebrating Union Pacific’s 150th anniversary, and sharing the company’s rich history with the communities it serves. No. 844 is headed to Houston, Texas. The 844 rolls into Rock Springs tomorrow then moves on to Cheyenne. It was 150 years ago that Abraham Lincoln signed the Pacific Railway Act of July 1, 1862, creating the original Union Pacific.
