Injured ice climber rescued after night outdoors

Park County sheriff's officials say a solo ice climber who spent a night outdoors after breaking both ankles has been flown to a hospital. Sheriff's office spokesman Lance Mathess says 54-year-old Kenneth Richmond fell about 15 to 20 feet Wednesday near the end of the South Fork Highway. His wife reported him overdue early Thursday. Fellow ice climbers found Richmond around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, and rescuers worked to get him safely out of the area.
