Following a rash of conflicts and accidents with deer, the city of Rawlins is considering a ban on feeding wildlife. Police have received 45 calls involving deer since Jan. 1, 2010. Nine were for dead deer, 18 were for dogs chasing deer and 18 were accidents involving deer. The City Council has been debating the feeding ban since mid-August. A proposed ordinance would impose a $45 fine on first offense and $90 for the second. The ordinance is awaiting a third and final reading.
