Wyo. Guard scrubs aerial firefighting training

The Wyoming Air National Guard was all set to practice using its cargo planes to fight wildfires but poor weather got in the way. Guard members had planned to conduct training flights at the Camp Guernsey Training Center on Wednesday. Unfavorable weather caused a last-minute cancellation. The Wyoming Air National Guard is 1 of 4 military units in the country that is equipped with a system that allows its C-130 cargo planes to drop 3,000 gallons of fire retardant at a time. Last year, the unit was called to fight fires in Texas, Oregon and Idaho.
