Wyoming business index remains strong

A survey indicates continued expansion of Wyoming's economy thanks to oil and gas activity. The survey by the Denver-based Goss Institute for Economic Research says Wyoming's business conditions index remained in growth territory for the 30th straight month in April. Overall the Wyoming business conditions index stood at 68.5 in April, down slightly from March. A number greater than 50 suggests economic expansion in coming months. Institute director Ernie Goss says low natural gas prices and the ever-changing national coal policy have yet to slow growth in Wyoming. He says durable goods manufactures in the state, especially those tied to energy and exports, experienced very healthy growth over the past several months.
