Wildlife managers with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department are seek the public’s help in developing the 2013 hunting seasons through a second round of meetings in southwest Wyoming.
Green River Wildlife Supervisor Steve DeCecco says there will be five open houses and one final public information-gathering meeting in southwest Wyoming. Regional staff hopes to hear from as many people as possible.
“In January, we held four public meetings around the region,” DeCecco said. “We did that so we could gather public input prior to season development and achieve more meaningful and timely dialog with the public, well in advance of drafting 2013 seasons. This is the second year we held meetings earlier in the annual hunting season setting cycle and we received input from more than 60 people. Now, we are following up that initial information gathering process in March with open houses and a final public information-gathering meeting. This is an opportunity for sportsmen to share any information, observations, or ideas you think would be valuable in developing 2013 hunting season proposals.”
Open houses will be held at the following locations:
Monday, March 18: Lyman, Lyman Town Hall, 6:30 p.m.
Monday, March 18: Baggs, Valley Community Center, 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, March 19: Evanston, The Roundhouse, Portland Room, 1440 Main St., 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 20: Kemmerer, Lincoln County Public Library, 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 21: Cokeville, Cokeville Town Hall, 6:30 p.m.
A final public information-gathering meeting will be held Wednesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. at the department’s Green River Region Office, 351 Astle Street.
If you are unable to attend the open houses or final meeting, you may mail written comments to: Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Attn: Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY 82604. Written comments must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, April 5.
