Three Red Desert residents charged with a Utah kidnapping are in custody and the victim, an 11-year-old girl, has been returned to her grandparents. Sweetwater County Detective Dick Blust, Jr. says that his agency was contacted late last week by authorities in Wasatch County, Utah, and informed that the victim, whom he declined to identify, was taken from the Mill Hollow Campground, about 32 miles east of Heber City, Utah. Authorities says the child was taken by her non-custodial parent, Tessa Mounts, who lives in Red Desert, a community some 60 miles east of Rock Springs.
According to court documents, Smith and Marsh drove with Mounts to Utah on July 2nd to pick up the victim and return with her to Wyoming.
Mounts, Marsh, and Smith remain in custody at the Sweetwater County Detention Center in Rock Springs, pending their return to Heber City to face their charges there.
