Wyo. Hotshots raise over $8K for Ariz. families

The Wyoming Hotshots have raised over $8,000 to help the families of the 19 firefighters killed at the Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona. The Hotshots, based at Bighorn National Forest, collected the money during the Stampede Parade in Cody on July 4th. The firefighters and some of their children collected donations with boots and hard hats on the parade route. Team member Colton McRann of Lander told the Cody Enterprise that the tragedy is a reminder of how dangerous their jobs are. The money will be sent to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, which will use the money to help the families of the firefighters.

  1. It’s very good decision to help the families of these firefighters. It was a big shock for them and probably they will need financial help. I think that this money would be good helpers for them. It seems to that our government has to help them, but as usual they don’t have money for this. I heard that some families turned to direct payday loans lenders only for taking financial help. I really hope that the government will pay attention on this situation and that they will support financially the families of these dead firefighters.
