Gov. Matt Mead has named Peter Michael to serve as Wyoming attorney general. Mead announced his choice of Michael as AG on Wednesday at a press conference in Cheyenne. Mead praised Michael as a highly intelligent and principled lawyer. Mead says he's known Michael since they were both at the University of Wyoming law school. Michael is a veteran lawyer in the AG's office and has been serving as interim AG this summer. He replaces former AG Greg Phillips, who recently took a judgeship on the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. The 57-year-old Michael had served as deputy attorney general for Phillips. Michael is married and has two children.
