The Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Riverton is selling the building where it has been located for nearly 80 years. Local VFW leaders say they want to downsize. They say the idea is to better serve the mission of their charter, which is to serve veterans. VFW officials are seeking a new building to house the VFW, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and VFW Women's Auxiliary. VFW officials say they're selling out of necessity. They say they can no longer afford the roughly $2,400 a month it costs to maintain the building.
