Mary Randolph, state coordinator of the Wyoming Main Street program and director of the Wyoming Rural Development Council, was presented today with the ATHENA Award® given to exceptional leaders who inspire others to achieve personal and professional excellence.
The award was presented to Randolph by the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. Each year, the Cheyenne Chamber chooses a member of the Laramie County community, male or female, to receive the award. The ATHENA Award® program was created in 1982 by Martha Mayhood Mertz, the only female member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in Lansing, Mich., with the goals of recognizing outstanding professional women in their communities and encouraging further leadership opportunities for women in business.
