The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rock Springs Field Office invites the public to a socioeconomic strategies workshop for its resource management plan (RMP) revision process on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rock Springs Holiday Inn at 1675 Sunset Drive.
The workshop will include a review of historical and current local and regional social and economic conditions and how BLM-administered lands relate to and influence these conditions. The workshop will also help identify desired social and economic conditions and how to enhance these through planning and policy decisions within the authority of the BLM, cooperating agencies and other partners.
“Successful resource management must involve those communities close to public lands,” states Rock Springs Field Manager Lance Porter. “This workshop is an excellent way for the public to get involved and learn how social and economic analysis can fit into the BLM RMP process.”
