JMH CAP

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rock Springs Field Office (RSFO) has released the 2011 Jack Morrow Hills Coordinated Activity Plan (JMH CAP) Annual Report.
The RSFO has been in the process of implementing management decisions and actions from the JMH CAP since the Record of Decision was signed in 2006. The Annual Report provides an update of implementation actions for 2011.
The JMH CAP encompasses approximately 622,000 total acres, of which the BLM administers approximately 574,800 acres within the boundary of the RSFO. The JMH CAP area includes Steamboat Mountain, Greater Sand Dunes, White Mountain Petroglyphs, Oregon Buttes and a portion of the South Pass Historic Landscape Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC). Also located within the JMH CAP are the Oregon Buttes, Honeycomb Buttes, Greater Sand Dunes, Buffalo Hump, Whitehorse Creek, South Pinnacles, and Alkali Draw wilderness study areas (WSA). In addition, three special recreation management areas (SRMA) – Greater Sand Dunes; Continental Peak Side Trail; along with the Oregon, Mormon-Pioneer, Pony Express, and California National Historic Trails are part of the JMH CAP.
