Sweetwater County Assessor Dave Rauzi has announced he plans to resign. In a letter to the media, Rauzi says he will step down effective Febuary first. Rauzi says he has reached retirement age and would like to do some traveling and spend additional time with his children and grandson. Rauzi was elected to the office in 1990. Because Rauzi is a democrat, the local party will submit three names to the county commissioners who will then select his successor and that person will fill out the remainder of Rauzi's term. Pat Drinkle is currently the Chief Deputy of the Assessors office. In his letter, Rauzi thanks all of his current and past employees, elected officals, and the voters. Rauzi says, and I quote, I look forward to meeting you on the street and discussing anything, BUT POLITICS.
