Wyoming Department of Health warns about vendors' high fees for documents

The Wyoming Department of Health advises residents to avoid commercial vendors that charge unnecessary high fees for official birth certificates or other certified documents. Jim McBride of the Vital Statistics Services Office says his office has seen a significant increase in official birth certificate requests due to Wyoming's new driver's license renewal law. McBride says commercial online vendors who promise to obtain those documents must get them from his office. He says he's heard of some commercial vendors charging much more than the state's $10 to $13 fee. McBride also noted his office receives numerous complaints related to some online vendors due to inconsistent quality control.
