Cow Camp Fire At 3500 plus acres

The Cow Camp Fire is now burning on 3500 plus acres and is just 10 percent contained. One unoccupied cabin was consumed by the blaze on Tuesday and 10 more structures are within two miles of the fire. It is located approximately five miles southeast of Laramie Peak and 20 miles northwest of Wheatland, burning on the Medicine Bow National Forest. It's east of Cottonwood Park Road, County Road 71 and south of County Road 716. The North Laramie River Trailhead, northeast of the fire, and the road into the trail are both closed. The fire has been assigned to a Type III Incident Management Team. As of Tuesday at noon, 120 crew members are on scene, including a Type III helicopter. Also, air attack was provided by a Type I airtanker from Jeffco, as well as three single-engine airtankers. The initial focus of fire crews is full suppression. The fire, which started Sunday, is being pushed to the west. It was discovered Monday morning by Black Mountain Lookout. Lightning is suspected to have started the blaze.
