Reward Offered in Missing Kidnapping Suspect

The FBI's searching for Mitchell Lee Walck (pictured left) wanted for a shooting incident and kidnapping in Idaho over the weekend. FBI Special Agent in Charge, David J. Johnson of the Salt Lake City Division, has authorized a reward of up to $20,000 in the search Walck. Walck kidnapped a 62-year-old woman from Rathdrum, ID. The woman was let go unharmed in Gelndive, MT. He was last seen driving the victim's 2005 Subaru Forester, silver in color with an Idaho license plate K230050. Walck is described as a 57-year-old white male, 5'10", 175 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. However, Walck recently changed his appearance and was last seen with dyed black hair and a dyed black mustache. He may be driving a 2005 silver Subaru Forester with Idaho plate K230050. He has been known to stop at campgrounds and churches for shelter. Walck is considered armed and extremely dangerous. He fired at the Idaho State Police trooper with a handgun during an attempted traffic stop on December 1, 2012 and used it to force the woman into his vehicle. He also stole two rifles from the woman's house; one was a 30-30 Winchester rifle and the other was a Mossberg .22 caliber rifle. If you see him or the vehicle you are asked to contact 911 immediately, or call the FBI Salt Lake City Division at (801) 579-1400, email tips to saltlakecity@ic.fbi.gov, or contact the nearest law enforcement agency. Do not approach him. The FBI isn't focusing on a certain state, but has asked for help in several states including Wyoming. This incident is being investigated by the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. The earlier pursuit and assault against the ISP officer is being investigated by the Post Falls Police Department through a cooperative agreement.
