Six Sweetwater County Dive Team members were recognized last week by Sweetwater County Sheriff Rich Haskell and County Emergency Management Director Dave Johnson. Sweetwater County Detective Dick Blust Jr. says they were recognized for earning their Public Safety Diver Certifications.
Dive Team members are volunteers who donate their expertise and time in responding to water-related accidents and mishaps in southwest Wyoming.
The divers are trained to dive to the depth of 100' and also have underwater cameras and remotely operated vehicle to aid in the search for or recovery of people who are presumed drowned. The divers are trained, certified and equipped to dive in ice conditions.
