Little Snake River Valley School student invited to White House

A student from Little Snake River Valley School in Carbon County recently shook hands with President Barack Obama. Michael Espy was among 60 students invited from across the nation to attend the White House Science Fair in Washington recently. Only 20 student scientists were selected to go onstage with the president. Espy commented that the president was a good speaker and made the students laugh. Espy made the trip with his teacher Carolyn Hicks. They visited many of the monuments at the nation's capital and toured the White House. Hicks has been Espy's teacher since 4th-grade summer school and has helped Espy develop his research.
