A company has filed an application to drill oil wells and use steam to help release the oil from the ground in central Wyoming. Denver-based Richardson Operating Co. proposes to drill nine wells in southern Fremont County. The application is before the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The company would inject steam underground to heat the oil and make it runnier. The steam also would add pressure to the oil. Other oil and gas projects in the works in central Wyoming include the more than 4,000-well Moneta Divide project.
