Thick smoke from a controlled burn caused a woman to crash her car into a ditch in the Powell area. Park County sheriff's officials say the fire was in an alfalfa field. The flames never got out of control but strong winds created heavy smoke. The 79-year-old driver wasn't hurt when she drove off a road into an irrigation canal with a small amount of water in it. A firefighter gave the woman a ride to get a medical evaluation.
