That accident where a tractor-trailer crashed through a Rawlins home and killed the driver spilled some of the truck's cargo of frozen raw chicken into the crawl space. The truck veered off Interstate 80, went through a fence and plowed through two fields before crashing into the house Thursday. The driver was pronounced dead at a hospital. His name wasn't immediately released.
Resident Eric Witmer said his family temporarily moved into a rental home owned by a member of the church they attend.
Part of the truck dropped through the floor into the crawl space. Church members helped dig out the chicken parts on Friday.
Witmer says much of the family's furniture was destroyed and the couple's wedding photos were missing. Most of the kitchen appliances were spared.
