Tuesday, August 6th, is the 14th annual National Night Out event in Green River, sponsored by the Green River Police Department. National Night Out, which is a yearlong community building campaign, is designed to
1.) Heighten crime prevention awareness
2.) generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
3.)strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and
4.) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The public is encouraged to organize neighborhood block parties during the evening of August 6th. If you are interested in receiving more information about National Night Out or to sign up for a block party, contact the Green River Police Department at 872-0555 and ask for Chris Steffen or Denise Arellano.
