The death of a Rock Springs man whose body was found in Utah on Friday is being investigated by Daggett County Authorities with assistance from the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office. Detective Dick Blust, Jr. says the victim has been identified as 51 year old Gregory Johnson.
On Wednesday, Sept. 5th, the hunter noticed that the vehicle had not moved and notified authorities. Officials from the Daggett County Sheriff's office assessed the scene which appeared to be a camp site.
One of the search dog teams found Johnson's body on September 7th less than 100 yards from the Sheep Creek Canal which is fed by Long's Park Reservoir about two miles upstream.
Johnson's body is undergoing a forensic investigation by the Utah medical examiners office though no indications of fowl play were immediately evident. The investigation is ongoing.
