Work is expected to start soon on a new 24-mile long power line to the Pinedale Anticline oil and gas field after federal land managers said it would cause no significant environmental impacts. The Bureau of Land Management released its finding on Tuesday. The power line would allow energy companies to convert some of their facilities from internal combustion engines and generators to electric power, reducing pollution. The decision also clears the way for construction of 2 other lines totaling about 15 miles in length. The BLM says those lines would be built if needed.
