Suspect in FedEx case sentenced after pleading guilty

A former FedEx contract driver was sentenced in District Court in Green River on July 11. Sweetwater County Detective Dick Blust, Jr. says that 22 year old Jayce Chandler Brood of Rock Springs, pleaded guilty to felony larceny by bailee, and felony wrongful disposing of property.

Blust says county deputies and detectives investigating a computer reported missing from a FedEx shipment followed up on information that led to Brood.

Brood was recommended for the Department of Correction’s Youthful Offender Program (Wyoming Boot Camp)at the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp at Newcastle. Boot Camp is an intensely structured program for first-time male offenders who have not reached the age of 25.

If he successfully completes the Boot Camp program, Brood will be eligible to petition the District Court to modify his sentence to probation.
