Ferris Fire Now at 75% Containment

The Ferris Fire is now at 75 percent containment and has burned 8,797 acres. There are no road closures but the public is encouraged to drive slow and watch for fire traffic on Carbon County Roads 497, 104, 100. The fire is in an area that is a major wildlife area with a variety of big game populations. It is also a Greater Sage-grouse core area within the BLM High Desert District. BLM representatives are currently mapping the burn area and will assess impacts.
