Andy Hoefer Inducted into Wyo Broadcasting HOF

The Wyoming Association of Broadcasters will be inducting Andy Hoefer of Laramie,
Wyoming into the Broadcaster Hall of Fame this weekend in Gillette at the Annual WAB
Convention.
Hoefer received his marketing and history degree from the University of Wyoming. He
served in the Army for two years and in 1966 Curt Gowdy hired him as Sales Manager
for KOWB AM. In 1975 he was named both General Manager and Sales Manager. In
1983 Andy oversaw the building of KCGY FM and became part owner of the station.
Hoefer established and built numerous events for the stations throughout the years,
such as the Fishing Derby which has been ongoing for over 41 years and the Christmas
Wish List. Plainsmen football; Sports Line Live with Dave Walsh and UW Cowboy
Talk after all UW Games are also important ventures Hoefer played an important part in
establishing.
Active in his community he has also held various Board positions in Laramie over the
years.
The Wyoming Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame can be found at the Arena
Auditorium in Laramie, Wyoming.
