Family and friends of an Eastern Shoshone official killed in a car crash are gathering in Fort Washakie. Funeral services are planned there Wednesday for tribal liaison Edward Wadda. He died May 31st in a rollover crash on Interstate 25 between Casper and Buffalo. Twenty-2-year-old Diana Sounding Sides of Fort Washakie also died of injuries suffered in the crash. Wadda was appointed as Wyoming's tribal liaison by Gov. Dave Freudenthal in 2005. He became the liaison for the Eastern Shoshone Tribe in 2009. Wadda worked as a teacher, youth basketball coach and program coordinator for the Eastern Shoshone Boys and Girls Club. He marched with other members of the tribe in President Barack Obama's inaugural parade.
