Utah furloughed prisoner accused in Wyo. robberies

A prisoner let out of an Ogden, Utah jail to go to the dentist is accused of holding up two banks in Wyoming. 32-year-old Joshua Beckstead was arrested in Bismarck, N.D. on Wednesday on a federal warrant issued in Wyoming. Tellers at banks held up in Cody and Cheyenne last month picked Beckstead out of a photo lineup. According to an FBI affidavit, Beckstead allegedly took a "bait pack" of money with recorded serial numbers from the First Bank of Wyoming in Cody on June 19. Investigators say the robberies resemble a June 9 robbery in Maysville, Okla. and a May 15 hold up in Ogden, Utah. The warrant was issued after authorities in those states compared notes. It wasn't clear whether Beckstead has a lawyer yet.
